Has a strong passion for the Arts with an emphasis on Baton and Dance. As an athlete she represented Nationally for Baton Twirling at The World Level several times. She attended performing arts school for Dance where she received her Arts diploma. After high school she decided to continue training on the Majorette line, and as Feature Twirler for Florida State University. Nationally Amy has won numerous championship events. She is a certified level 3 Coach, and a Master level Judge for Baton Twirling. She has trained and coached athletes at the State, National, and International level. Amy is passionate about passing along her knowledge of the sport of Baton Twirling, and the Art of Dance. With an education background in childhood development, Amy has a strong ability to connect and coach all age groups, while engaging and challenging them to reach their goals. Amy is also a certified Yoga and Zumba instructor, and loves to continue to educate and expand her knowledge to different avenues of fitness and the Arts.
Kim Genton is founder and co-owner of Harmony Studio with her daughter Amy Kalin. Kim's life work has been dedicated to enhancing children's lives by introducing opportunities that come from the Arts and the sport of Baton Twirling. A level three coach, Kim focuses her time on maximizing each student's experience at Harmony both from a technical standpoint as well as personal growth. With over thirty years of elite level coaching and judging, Kim is also involved in helping Harmony students learn and perfect the sport of baton twirling.
Miss Rachel was a dance major at Lamar University in Beaumont Texas and has continued to build her resume teaching dance in St. Louis. Miss Rachel is knew to Crystal Lake as she moved to follow her husband's career. Once she moved she began her full time career with Bright Horizons Childcare centre. Miss Rachel has created the dance curriculum for 3-5 year olds for ten centers and continues to supervise these programs during the day. Miss Rachel works for Harmony Monday and Wednesday evenings. She encourages parents to come and chat in the time between classes as she understands the necessity to talk about your child's development in dance and socially.
Harmony Studio welcomes Dr. Leah Howard to our staff. Leah is a certified Chiropractor who was educated in Canada. She lives downtown Chicago and therefore attendance at Harmony Studio is minimal. Leah is on retainer at Harmony to give guidance to our Acro and Dance program on always offering a safe syllabus. Her training as a competitive gymnast and coach, coupled with her education, proves to make her a valuable resource to Harmony Studio.
Brook is an experienced and passionate yoga instructor, with over 10 years of teaching experience with advanced training in Yin, and Vinyasa. Committed to providing extensive instruction while motivating individuals to find true inner peace, and their healthiest self.
Julie is in charge of assisting us with keeping our Harmony family updated. Julie does the monthly newsletter, and looks after the Harmony store.
